How the procedure works
Pressotherapy consists of several stages:
- During the consultation, the doctor determines the problematic areas of the body through inspection, analyzes the condition, evaluates possible contraindications, and sets the duration of the course.
- Preparation for the course includes limiting the intake of salty foods and drinks for three days before the massage. A liter of water should be consumed a couple of hours before the procedure. Additionally, the bladder should be emptied before starting the treatment.
- In the treatment room, the patient wears a special suit with internal chambers where compressed air is pumped under specific pressure. For the legs, it’s high pants; for the abdomen and sides, a wide belt; for the arms, high cuffs.
- The massage is performed using compressed air. The effect occurs on the fat tissue, muscles, and skin. This helps improve blood circulation, lymph flow, and eliminates excess stagnant fluid. If the goal of pressotherapy is weight loss or cellulite removal, special creams, ointments, or gels are applied.
- After the procedure, the patient lies down for a few minutes and can then get up and remove the suit.

Advantages of Pressotherapy
Despite its list of contraindications, pressotherapy has numerous advantages. For example, it:
- Stimulates and enhances detoxification processes in the body
- Helps fight excess weight
- Eliminates peripheral swelling
- Stabilizes blood pressure
- Relieves muscle tension after intense physical activity
- Calms the nervous system, relieving stress symptoms
- Improves venous blood flow
- Enhances intestinal peristalsis and prevents constipation
By accelerating the removal of excess fluid from tissues and eliminating stagnation, pressotherapy significantly reduces the rehabilitation period after surgeries and injuries.
