Indications for Buttocks Lipofilling
- Lack of volume or flatness of the buttocks.
- Asymmetry or disproportion of the buttock area.
- Postpartum changes in the shape of the buttocks.
- Volume loss after rapid weight loss.
- Desire to achieve a more rounded and toned shape of the buttocks without implants.
Buttocks Lipofilling Technique
The procedure consists of several stages:
- Fat Harvesting: Fat is harvested from one or more areas of the body using a minimally invasive liposuction technique (usually the abdomen, thighs, or flanks).
- Fat Processing: The harvested fat is purified and prepared for injection into the buttock area.
- Fat Injection: The prepared fat is injected into the buttocks using specialized cannulas. This allows for the correction of the buttock contours, providing a natural look and desired shape.
Who buttock fat grafting is for
Augmenting the buttocks with your own fat is chosen when shape and volume need changing without implants: adding roundness, filling lateral depressions, correcting asymmetry. It solves a second problem at the same time — the fat is taken from the waist, flanks or thighs, so the body contour changes in both areas at once.
The method requires an adequate reserve of the patient's own fat. In a very slim build it may not provide the volume wanted, and other options are then discussed.
How the operation works
It is done in two stages within one operation: WAL harvesting, then injection of purified fat in small portions at varying depths, so that it is better nourished and survives. Surgery takes 2–3 hours under general anaesthesia or sedation. The price depends on volume and the number of donor zones; see below.

All DoctorsHow is the consultation going?
Sitting directly on the buttocks is not allowed for 2–3 weeks — pressure impairs the blood supply to the grafted fat and reduces survival. During this period a special cushion transfers the load to the thighs, and you sleep on your front or side.
Restrictions are lifted gradually by week 4. Compression garments on the donor areas are worn for about a month, and sport resumes after 6–8 weeks.
Fat is harvested and injected through 2–3 mm punctures that usually need no sutures. After a few months the puncture marks are practically invisible.
Bruising and firmness in the donor area are common in the first weeks — a normal tissue reaction that resolves on its own. Compression garments over the donor site speed recovery.
