Consultation and Diagnosis:
1.Initial Consultation:
- A neurosurgeon or spine surgeon conducts a physical examination, collects the patient’s medical history, and assesses symptoms such as pain, numbness, or mobility issues.
2.Neurological Examination:
- Sensory, reflex, and muscle strength assessments to evaluate nerve function.
3.Spinal Imaging:
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI): Provides a detailed view of intervertebral discs, herniations, and nerve compression.
- Computed Tomography (CT): Offers high-resolution images of the spine to assess structural damage.
- X-ray: Used to evaluate the overall alignment and bone condition of the spine.
