Who chin liposuction is for
Liposuction of the neck and chin is indicated when localised fat collects under the jaw, blurring the angle between neck and chin. This is most often an inherited trait unrelated to overall weight: dieting slims the face but does not clear this particular area.
Good results depend on preserved skin elasticity. If the skin is lax, liposuction alone will leave sagging, and it is combined with a neck lift or platysmaplasty.
Techniques
Surgical liposuction is performed through 2–3 punctures under the chin and behind the ears using fine cannulas. The ultrasound-assisted technique first breaks down the fat cells, which eases their removal in dense tissue and tightens the skin a little further.
The procedure takes 40–60 minutes under local anaesthesia with sedation. The price depends on technique and extent — see below.

How is the consultation going?
Yes. A supportive chin and neck garment is worn around the clock for the first 5–7 days, then mainly at night for a further 2–3 weeks. It reduces swelling and helps the skin retract evenly.
Swelling and bruising are noticeable in the first week; by day 10–14 the area looks socially presentable. The final contour settles by 3 months.
Removed fat cells do not regenerate, so this area does not return to its former appearance at a stable weight. The result lasts for years.
The remaining cells can enlarge, however: with significant weight gain some volume under the chin will return. Age-related loss of skin elasticity also affects the contour over time.
