Felon: Causes and Symptoms
A felon is an acute purulent inflammation of finger tissues, often caused by:
- Injuries (scratches, cuts, splinters)
- Nail infections
- Poor hand hygiene
Symptoms include:
- Redness, swelling, and pain in the finger
- Pus formation
- Increased pain when touched
- Fever and general weakness (in severe cases)
