What is a forehead lift
A forehead lift, or surgical lifting of the upper third of the face, involves working with the tissues of the frontal area. Depending on the indications, the operation may also affect the position of the eyebrows and the temporal area.
With age, the skin and other soft tissues gradually change, which can lead to sagging of the eyebrows and a change in the proportions of the upper third of the face. In some patients, such features may be pronounced even at a younger age due to individual anatomy.
A forehead and temple lift makes it possible to surgically change the position of the tissues in the corresponding areas. If the main task is to correct the position of the eyebrows, the extent of the procedure is determined taking this feature into account.

What a brow lift achieves
A forehead lift addresses the upper third of the face: horizontal lines, vertical folds between the brows, skin hooding over the upper lid, and descended brows that make the expression look tired or stern.
A brow and forehead lift often achieves what blepharoplasty cannot: if the hooding is caused by a dropped brow, removing eyelid skin will not solve it and may make it worse. At examination the surgeon decides whether to lift the forehead, treat the lids, or combine both.
Techniques
The endoscopic lift is performed through 3–5 short incisions within the hair: the tissues are released and fixed higher, with scars hidden by the hair. The open (coronal) technique is used less often, for marked skin excess and a high forehead. A temporal lift raises only the outer part of the brow.
Surgery takes 1.5–2.5 hours under general anaesthesia or sedation.

How is the consultation going?
The result may last a long time, but the natural age-related changes of the tissues continue even after the operation.

Swelling can track down to the eyelids and lasts 7–14 days. Sutures or clips are removed on day 7–10, and work resumes after 10–14 days.
Numbness and itching along the incisions are common and settle within 2–3 months. Sport restarts after 4 weeks and hair colouring after 4–6 weeks. The final result is apparent by 3 months.
