Stages of Laparoscopic Sterilization at Helyos Center:

1. Consultation and Diagnosis:

• The first step includes a consultation with a surgeon who evaluates the woman’s overall health and discusses the reasons for sterilization.
• Necessary tests and examinations are performed (ultrasound, blood tests, and other diagnostics) to assess the condition of the reproductive system.
• Risks, benefits, and anesthesia options are explained in detail.

2. Preparation for the Procedure:

• The patient receives preoperative instructions (diet, discontinuation of certain medications, abstaining from sexual activity before the procedure).
• The surgeon provides guidance on preparing for the postoperative period.

3. Sterilization Procedure:

• Laparoscopic sterilization is typically performed under general anesthesia.
• Small incisions are made in the abdominal area through which a laparoscope and surgical instruments are inserted.
• The surgeon ties or removes a portion of the fallopian tubes, thereby preventing pregnancy.
