Quality assurance and control

What follows is what Helyos can evidence with documents and internal procedures: how the centre is run, under which authorisations it operates, and what to do if something goes wrong.

Standards of medical care

Care at Helyos is provided in accordance with Ukrainian healthcare legislation and with the sector standards and clinical protocols approved by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

  • The scope and terms of paid services are set out in the public offer contract published on this site, which applies to every patient.
  • Prices are published in the Prices section and apply equally to all patients in the relevant category.
  • Every episode of care is recorded in the patient’s medical records, and the patient has the right to copies of the records of their treatment.
Licences and certificates

The centre operates as LLC “SKY-WINNER” (registration code 39336307) under Medical Practice Licence No. 551, issued by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine on 27.08.2015. Copies of the current authorisations are published on the Licences page.

Doctors’ qualifications

Only doctors with the relevant professional education and valid specialisation and certification documents, as required by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, practise at Helyos.

  • Each doctor’s education, specialisation and experience are stated in their profile in the Our doctors section.
  • Doctors undergo periodic further training, as the continuing professional development system requires.
Patient safety
  • Informed consent. Before any intervention the doctor explains what it involves, the expected result, the possible risks and the alternatives; the procedure goes ahead only with the patient’s consent.
  • Confidentiality. Patients’ personal data are processed under the rules published in the Regulations on the processing of personal data and under the Law of Ukraine “On the Protection of Personal Data”.
  • Video surveillance in the centre’s common areas is carried out openly and is governed by separate Regulations; recordings are kept for a limited period and are accessible only to authorised staff.
  • The rules of conduct during an air-raid alert apply to patients, accompanying persons and staff and are published on this site.
Quality control and handling of enquiries
  • You can get in touch through the contact centre, by e-mail, or using the “Enquiry to the management” form on the contacts page.
  • An enquiry about the quality of care is passed to the centre’s management and to the relevant specialist to be looked into.
  • The patient receives a reply through the channel they used. Where medical records have to be examined the review may take longer, and the patient is told so.
  • Patient reviews on this site are moderated before publication: what is checked is compliance with the publication rules, not the rating given.
What Helyos guarantees and what depends on the clinical case
The centre guarantees
  • that it operates under a valid medical practice licence;
  • that only doctors with evidenced qualifications practise here;
  • adherence to clinical protocols and to its internal control procedures;
  • an explanation of the intervention, its risks and the alternatives before it begins;
  • protection of the patient’s personal and medical data;
  • that an enquiry about the quality of care is reviewed and answered.
What cannot be guaranteed in advance
  • a particular treatment outcome or a full recovery;
  • the absence of complications, side effects or individual reactions;
  • the same recovery times for different patients;
  • that a treatment plan will not change if the patient’s condition or test results change.

This is not a formality but a medical fact: the same treatment produces different results in different people. Any promise of guaranteed recovery on a medical centre’s website would be untrue.
