Recommendations for stool collection

The laboratory accepts faeces only in special containers.

Faeces should be obtained by natural defecation, without enemas or laxatives. Children with constipation can use a bar of soap for irritant effect. Faeces is collected in an individual vessel, washed with disinfectant.
It is recommended to urinate in the toilet before collecting faeces.
Avoid admixture of urine and genital secretions in the faeces.
The stool sample from different places of a single portion is transferred to a special container using a spoon mounted in the lid, no more than 1/3 of the container volume (30 ml).
Screw the lid of the container tightly and mark the container: Patient's name, specimen number (the data must correspond to the data specified in the referral form).
